Tester Shoots

During the half term I took home Cannon EOS 550D to try out various tester shoots. I decided to do various tester shoots because then I am able to gage what shoots and angles look good and the ones that don’t.

I played around with the various colours, auto focus and different zoom.

What have I learnt from doing a tester shoot?

I have been able to develop my skills in focusing in on one particular image, at first I have to admit I didn't even know that you were able to focus in on the image, I first found out that once you had zoomed in to your ideal shot you could then gradually/ slowly touch down on the capture button. After using this method of focusing I was then shown by my media teacher an easier way to focus, which is adjusting the dial after the zoom dial, and it is far easier to focus!

I am very lucky enough to be able to of had the chance to take the camera home and I feel this abled me to learn new features and tools of the camera, by myself. It is one thing learning all the camera techniques altogether as a class and being in groups learning, however by taking the camera home I knew it was completely up to me to find new things. I had not only practiced focusing but also changing the colour from black and white to colour, through this I then came across how to sharpen an image and to also change the lighting. The lighting tool in particular helps you to create a different atmosphere to your picture, for example in the second picture down I lightened the light bar to enhance the pink, also you could enhance the light if your image was something related to happiness, or vice versa if it was a very dark image you could lower the lighting.
