This afternoon I decided to go and have a look through my media blog I created last year for my AS media course. It was obvious, through looking at the blog that I had little experience with using blogger.
Looking through my blog it made me realise how little experience I had with using blogger, at first when starting the project I had never heard of blogger before and was a total novice, at first we were unsure whether we were going to be able to use blogger at all in documenting our music magazine because at the time blogger were having some internet issues, so instead we were going to have to use Microsoft power point instead, this would of been a less professional way of documenting our work because we would have to set up lots of various different slides, also if we wanted to add in a YouTube video of internet link this would have slowed our time and also the examiners time down as they would then of had to wait for the internet explorer to load. Another downer to using Microsoft power point is that people worldwide would not be able to look and read my work; this is a strong advantage with blogger as it allows my work to be discovered easily with someone living over the other side of the world. I feel that having used blogger in my AS coursework it has made it easier for me to use again this year as i haven't had to teach my self how to see it and create a new set up, i have been able to create a new blog through my existing one. Another benefit to this is all the people that have viewed my AS blog are then able to read my new A2 blog extending the accessibility of it.
Another thing I noticed in my blog is the lack of different technology i had used in presenting my work; it was mainly posts and pictures instead of the use of prezzie, slide share and YouTube. This year it has made me determined to use at least 2 new technologies on my blog, not only to learn something new but to also engage the audience more and to make my blog different from all the rest. I don't want my audience to be bored when looking through my blog, so by me adding these new technologies it will make them more interested.
Please find the link below to look at my AS blog :)
Please include visual media to illustrate your reflection. Show the 'before' and 'after' footage and reflect on how and why this happened, was it a faulty tripod, your framing, being distracted, trying to shoot and direct at the same time? More detail and visual material please.
