Once again we have had trouble with Premier elements for the first part of the lesson, however things are starting to run more smoothly now.
In today’s lesson I have spent a lot of it time re mapping certain clips to fit in with the music, I have also done this because I feel that certain scenes need to be sped up to create more tension and to make the audience think "what is happening next?".
Tine re mapping is not as hard as I though it may have been at all! Once you know what to do it is very simple!
How to use Time re mapping?
1) Select the scene you would like to time re map
2) Click on Tools down to where is says Time Re mapping
3) Drag the red line across the clips you have selected to where you would like to time re map
4) Move the arrow across to where you want the speed you want it to be, for example I have chosen just a bit ahead of 'normal'
5) Click play to make sure you have got it to the speed you wanted
6) Once you have the speed you wanted click 'Done'
In the print screens below I have time remapped one of my chorus scenes I shot using sign language, the reason I wanted to make my clip a little bit faster is because originally it was rather slow and didn't fit with the rhythm of the rest of my music video, however after using time remapping it flows more. Another shot I time remapped was the scene with the girl at the computer, at first I time remapped the beginning bit to show how she didn't want to be working and it was a chore to her, however I then time remapped the second part of the scene to 'fast' I did this to show how frustrated the girl was, I feel after time remapping this scene it created for of an atmosphere and expression to how and why the character was doing what she was doing.

Good use of screen grabs to illustrate your reflection on the learning process as you start to use Premiere Elements. Can you reflect in more detail and explain the process and the effects you want to achieve? Is there anything you could have done in pre-production (before shooting) which could have helped the editing process?
ReplyDeleteIt's really good to see you are into the habit of posting more regularly!

ReplyDeletenice use of variation to your blog, like screenshots showing the editting process. I also like the way you're posting more regulary. :) xx
