Linking lyrics to scenes

I have decided to plan my music video with linking in the scenes to the lyrics in a very different way, by typing up all the lyrics then highlighting the individual sections and my ideas that I had for the scenes. For example-

 

"From day one I’ve been prepared, VO5 wax for my ginger hair"

I have chosen to use a ginger actor for this scene because I feel the lyrics wouldn’t have the same meaning to if I had chosen to use an actor with brown hair for example. This relates to Andrew Goodwin’s theory of relating lyrics to the images. I decided to reinforce this theory in this particular scene as I wanted my music video to be as if my audience are watching a short film, therefore the lyrics are linking in to what is happening on the screen.

As you can see I have made a variety of notes and scribbles on my plans/ lyrics. This really helped me as i was making a note of my original ideas then changing them for others which I thought would work better. It is also interesting to notice that some of my original plans are different to my drafts for my music video, this is because as filming went on I found things worked better than others and had more significance to my music video.
